Enough is enough. We must make change.

These past few weeks have been tumultuous. They have been riddled with anxiety, heartbreak, sadness, anger, confusion, disgust, and so much more. Black lives matter and change needs to happen because the behaviors in our country do not support this sentiment.

As a company, our first value is to prioritize people. Our value is stated as such:

Prioritize people. We believe people matter most and we treat all people as whole humans, with respect, kindness, and empathy.

The injustices being committed against our black friends, families, neighbors, and colleagues are crimes committed against our fellow humans. Our fellow people. And they are not being treated as whole humans nor are they being treated with respect, kindness, nor empathy.

As individuals, businesses, and a nation, we need to do a better job of listening, amplifying, and protecting the voices, rights, and lives of our fellow humans. These actions are not new, but our response must be. We cannot continue to sit back and do nothing. We must use our voices, especially those of us with privileges we may or may not realize, to be advocates for change.

Change is necessary. We must stand up for one another and be better, stronger neighbors, colleagues, friends, and humans. If you’re unsure how you can contribute in a positive way, start by educating yourself, listening with open ears and open hearts to those impacted, reaching out to your black colleagues and friends, starting conversations about racism, donating locally or nationally, and using your voice to share your disapproval of this behavior. Don’t stay silent.

Change is not comfortable.
This is not comfortable.
We need to get comfortable being uncomfortable.

It’s time to embrace change and become better humans.
