Dear Mom, Love Letters to Our Mamas

At Brainchild Studios we love our moms. They helped make us who we are, and we can't get enough of them or thank them enough. Moms are all around us and come in every shape, size, color, and creed, and we love them all. On Mother's Day, a few of us on the team want to give them a little shout-out to the ones who raised us right!

Dear Mom,

You're my favorite mom. Thank you for always being so kind and thoughtful and for turning into one of my best friends and greatest listeners. You always supported me even when I made no sense. You loved me when I was impossible. You cheered for me when I fought myself. You taught me how to make chocolate cookies from scratch and the foundation of entrepreneurship. You taught me to be thoughtful and not care what others think. You taught me creativity and how to be a resourceful problem solver. Thank you for being the best mom a gal could ask for.

I love you so much, I could lick your face.

Love,
Kiley

Dear Mom,

You've always shown me what it means to stand up for myself and what I believe in. Thanks for showing up on the playground to have a word with a boy who pushed me, always supporting my dreams of being an artist/designer, and leading by example with running a business and a household. Marching with you in DC was just the icing on the cake.

Stay nasty, mom.

Love,
Emily

Dear Mom,

Thank you for always believing in me and for being there for me no matter what. It all started so long ago, when you tried so hard to make sure I had friends. I'll forever be grateful (and embarrassed) for the way you took me door-to-door in our new neighborhood to ask other moms if they had kids and if they would play with me. Now that I'm a mom myself, I appreciate even more how much you were always hustling to give us the best and happiest little childhoods we could have. And you're still looking out for me with that unmistakable mother's dedication. Why else would you have been right by my side all three times I welcomed my own kids into the world and helping me get through some of the most terrifying (yet exciting!) experiences of entire life! I know, it's not the prettiest picture of us (mainly me), but it's definitely one of my favorites!

Love,
Melissa

Dear Mom,

When anyone meets you they say, "She's literally the nicest person I've ever met." It's true. You genuinely care for everyone you meet and have dedicated your life to children. From teaching elementary school, to being a stay-at-home mom to teaching (again!), you are a true educator and loves kids. (Side note: if you are ever in need of children literature recommendations, my mom will give you an age-appropriate book list guaranteed to excite your kids.) When I became a mother and was overwhelmed, sleep-deprived with that deer-in-the-headlights-look, you counseled me to slow down and trust my instincts instead of looking to others for answers. You have taught me first-hand the simple, mundane moments of parenthood are the most memorable - and with each passing year that cliche rings true.

Love,
Lindsay

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
